fuckyeahtattoos: I love this quote from Finding Nemo. It’s from the part where Dory is trying to cheer up Marlin and tell’s him when life’s got you down you’ve gotta just keep swimming. It works for me because I think with this optimism, and when shit goes wrong in my life I grow from the negative, I just keep swimming. I also am the “Dory” fish of my friend group and family. Plus this movie is a classic from my childhood. Now, when I feel like all hope is lost, I can look down and see in my handwriting, never to give up, just keep swimming.  I wrote out the tattoo myself. It was done at East Coast Tattooing &amp; Body in Providence, RI.

fuckyeahtattoos: These are my first tattoos. I got them on the day of my 18th birthday by Geddes. This was the first time I had been in “The Shady Lady” where he worked, and him and Teddy both made me feel at home. I was so nervous to get them done because all my friends have said that feet are one of the worst spots on your body to get tattooed. I had my best friend Ricky Martin with me and he held my hand through the whole thing. It was one of the worst pains I have ever felt in my entire life, but Geddes made sure that I felt comfortable. Once they were finished, I was in love. I grew up watching Star Wars, thanks to my father, and I knew that my first tattoo needed to be Star Wars related. I found the picture of Han and Leia that I used for my tattoo online. A graphic artist out of California named Jose Pulido created the picture and many other sugar skull Star Wars characters, but this one stuck out to me the most. In the original picture they are holding hands, so when Geddes redrew the picture he had them reaching out to each other. I love these tattoos so much and it shows my love of Star Wars and also keeps me believing in true love. Thanks Geddes!

Anonymous asked: i am planning to get a tattoo on the inside of my foot above the arch (a quote). People are telling me this is a bad idea because it is going to fade very quickly. How quickly do tattoos on the foot fade?

What I have been told by my tattoo artist friends is that the arch or bottom of your feet (since they are a more used part of your foot) fade really quickly due to the bulk of new skin that is being made on a daily basis. The tattoos on the top of my feet have not faded over the 3 or so years that I have had them, just lotion every day and go to someone who does it properly the first time. My first foot tattoo got touched up during my session for my second foot tattoo just because the lines were sloppy and not filled in properly otherwise minimal fading.

fuckyeahtattoos: I was set that my fourth tattoo would be on my foot, I already covered the other most painful areas (ribs, spine, finger) so I thought why not.  I’m the type of girl that people don’t expect to be a nerd. I can go on and on about comics, movies, cars, etc. but people don’t give me the time of day because they judge me on how I look. So after thinking it through, my tattoo artist (Raiden Alexander, Lucky Draw Tattoo in Marietta, GA) helped me perfect this piece of mine. It hurt like hell, but it’s a reminder not only to not judge someone by how they look on the outside, but to always have something that you can hope for. Because what is life to live without hope or faith?
